# Our Formula

ScaleConnect runs on a simple loop: **simulate → review → act → repeat**. Each cycle builds on the last — the AI gets smarter, the client gets more engaged, and your practice becomes harder to replicate. This page explains how the loop works and why it compounds.

## The Core Loop

Every client relationship in ScaleConnect follows the same four-step cycle. The speed and frequency vary, but the structure is always the same.

### 1. Simulate

Build the client's strategy using real data. Add their properties, loans, income, expenses, and goals into the [simulator](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/strategies.md). Configure events — purchases, refinances, rate changes, life milestones. The engine projects cashflows, equity, tax, LVR, and goal progress across the full time horizon.

The simulation is the foundation. It turns raw financial data into a forward-looking projection that both you and the client can reason about.

### 2. Review

ScaleAI analyses the simulation output and generates a personalised [AI Review](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/ai-reviews.md). The review covers portfolio performance, key events, goal progress, market context, and recommendations. You add your own strategic advice, then send it to the client.

The review translates numbers into narrative — it's how the data becomes a conversation.

### 3. Act

Based on the review's insights, you and the client take action. That might mean:

* Refinancing a loan to release equity
* Restructuring repayments to improve cashflow
* Adding a new property to the portfolio
* Booking a meeting to discuss strategy adjustments
* Adjusting savings targets or timelines

Action is where value is realised. The simulation told you what's possible. The review explained why it matters. Now you execute.

### 4. Repeat

After the action, update the simulation to reflect the new reality. Re-run projections, generate a new review, compare the before and after. Each cycle deepens the AI's knowledge base with new notes, reviews, and transcripts — making the next review sharper and more contextualised.

## How the Pieces Fit Together

The core loop is powered by a set of interconnected features. Understanding how they connect explains why the platform is more than the sum of its parts.

### The Simulator

The [simulator](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/strategies.md) is the engine. Every property, loan, event, and assumption feeds into projections that span decades. It handles:

* [Property events](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/property-events-1.md) — purchases, sales, refinances, valuations
* [Personal events](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/personal-events-1.md) — salary changes, expenses, debts, bonuses
* [Cash flow projections](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/cash-flow-projections.md) — personal, property, and portfolio-level views
* [Charts and reports](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/charts-and-reports.md) — visual outputs for analysis and client conversations
* [Compare strategies](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/clone-and-compare.md) — side-by-side scenario analysis

Without the simulator, there's nothing to review. It's the data layer that everything else builds on.

### The Knowledge Base

The [knowledge base](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/client-notes.md) accumulates context over time. Every note, transcript, review, and AI conversation enriches the AI's understanding of each client. This context compounds — the AI in cycle ten knows far more than the AI in cycle one.

### Broker Brain

[Broker Brain](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/broker-brain.md) sits across your entire loan book. It gives you cross-client insights, pipeline analytics, refinance signals, and portfolio-wide views. While the core loop operates per-client, Broker Brain helps you prioritise which clients need attention and where the biggest opportunities lie.

### Client Assistant and Client AI

The [Client Assistant](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/product-docs/scaleconnect-docs/scaleai/ask-ai.md) (in ScaleConnect) and [ScaleAI for Clients](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/product-docs/scaleconnect-docs/scaleai/scaleai-for-clients.md) (in ScaleApp) provide per-client AI context. The Client Assistant helps you prepare for meetings and deep-dive into a client's position. The client-facing AI gives clients self-service access to their own data.

### AI Reviews

[AI Reviews](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/ai-reviews.md) bridge analysis and action. They take simulation data and knowledge base context, produce a structured narrative, and give you a vehicle for delivering value to the client on a regular cadence.

### Calendar Agent

The [Calendar Agent](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/about-us/calendar-agent.md) watches for trigger events — rate expiries, equity thresholds, goal milestones — and initiates outreach or scheduling automatically. It ensures the "Act" step happens at the right time, not just when you remember to check.

### ScaleApp

ScaleApp puts the client in the loop. Instead of waiting for your next review, they can check their portfolio, ask the AI questions, and track their goals in real time. This keeps them engaged between review cycles and makes every meeting more productive.

## The Broker-Client Relationship Loop

The platform creates a reinforcing loop between you and your client that strengthens with every cycle.

### Your Role

You build and maintain the strategy. You configure the simulation, set the parameters, model the scenarios. When the AI generates a review, you add your expertise — the personal recommendations, the strategic advice, the nuance that only a human adviser can provide.

The platform handles the analysis and communication infrastructure. You handle the relationships and the advice.

### The Client's Role

Your client stays informed through ScaleApp and regular reviews. They can check their portfolio anytime, ask the AI questions, and track their progress. When a trigger event surfaces — a rate expiry, an equity milestone, a market shift — both you and the client are notified.

### How It Strengthens Over Time

| Cycle         | What Happens                                                                                                                                      |
| ------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Cycle 1** | Initial strategy built, first simulation run, first review sent |
| **Cycle 2** | AI review references the first review, notes from your meeting are in the knowledge base, projections updated |
| **Cycle 3** | Client has acted on a recommendation — simulation reflects the change, review shows the impact |
| **Cycle 5+** | AI has deep context on the client's history, preferences, and decisions. Reviews are highly personalised. Client understands their position well. |
| **Cycle 10+** | Multi-year relationship documented in the knowledge base. The AI can trace the client's journey from first purchase to current portfolio. |

Every interaction — every review, note, meeting, and AI conversation — feeds the knowledge base. The knowledge base feeds the next review. The next review drives the next action. The compounding is built into the architecture.

## Why Simulation-First Works

Traditional broking is reactive. A client calls when their rate expires. You check their file, pull together some numbers, and react. ScaleConnect inverts this model by putting simulation at the centre.

### Shared, Data-Driven View

When both you and your client can see the same projections — the same cashflow numbers, the same equity trajectory, the same goal progress — conversations are grounded in data, not guesswork. There's no ambiguity about where they stand or what the options are.

### Proactive, Not Reactive

Because the simulator runs forward projections, you can see what's coming before it arrives. A rate expiry six months out isn't a surprise — it's already modelled. An equity milestone that enables a new purchase isn't a lucky discovery — it's been in the projections since the last review.

### Defensible Practice

Each cycle creates documented evidence of value. Reviews sent, strategies modelled, scenarios compared, actions taken. Over time, this builds a practice that's hard for competitors to replicate — because the depth of context and the continuity of advice can't be reproduced by someone starting fresh.

### Compounding Intelligence

The AI gets better with every cycle. More notes, more reviews, more transcripts mean richer context for the next review. The difference between an AI review for a new client and an AI review for a client with two years of history is significant — and your clients feel it.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.scaleconnect.com.au/scaleconnect-docs/about-us/our-formula.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
