# Google Meet

Google Meet links are automatically included in meetings created through ScaleConnect. There is no separate integration to configure — Meet links are generated as part of the Google Calendar connection. If your calendar is connected and you select Google Meet as your meeting platform, every meeting ScaleConnect creates will include a join link for both you and your client.

***

## How Meet Links Work

When ScaleConnect creates a calendar event — whether through the [Calendar Agent](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/integrations/calendar-agent.md), [Broker Brain](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/integrations/broker-brain.md), or the calendar panel — it generates a Google Meet link and attaches it to the event automatically.

The process works like this:

1. A meeting is created in ScaleConnect (manually, via AI Scheduler, or through a Broker Brain conversation).
2. ScaleConnect creates a Google Calendar event on your behalf using your connected Google account.
3. Google generates a unique Meet link for the event.
4. The link is embedded in the calendar invitation sent to all attendees.

Both you and the client receive the same Meet link. Either party can click it at the scheduled time to join the video call directly in their browser or the Google Meet app.

{% hint style="info" %}
Google Meet links require your [Google Calendar](/scaleconnect-docs/integrations/google-calendar.md) to be connected. If your calendar isn't linked, ScaleConnect can't create events or generate Meet URLs. See [Connect Your Integrations](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/integrations/connect-your-integrations.md) to set up Google Calendar.

## Where Meet Links Appear

Meet links surface in several places across ScaleConnect and your client's experience:

### Google Calendar event

The primary location. Open the event in Google Calendar and the Meet join link appears at the top of the event details. Clients who receive the calendar invitation see the same link in their own calendar.

### Scheduling confirmations in chat

When the [Calendar Agent](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/integrations/calendar-agent.md) books a meeting through the client chatbot or Broker Brain, the confirmation message in the chat thread includes the meeting time, date, and a direct link to the Google Meet session. Clients can tap or click the link from the chat to join.

### Activity log

Meeting events logged in the client's activity feed include the Meet link as part of the event record. This gives you a quick way to find the join URL if you need it outside of your calendar.

### Email invitations

Google Calendar sends standard email invitations to all attendees. These emails contain the full event details including the Meet join link, even if the attendee doesn't use Google Calendar.

## Choosing Your Meeting Platform

ScaleConnect supports multiple video conferencing platforms. When creating a meeting — either manually from the calendar panel or through automated scheduling — you select your preferred platform from the **Platform** dropdown.

| Platform            | How it works                                                           |
| ------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Google Meet** | Link generated automatically via your Google Calendar connection |
| **Zoom** | Requires a Zoom link to be provided manually or configured separately |
| **Microsoft Teams** | Requires a Teams link to be provided manually or configured separately |

Google Meet is the most seamless option because the link is created automatically. For Zoom or Teams, you may need to generate the meeting link from those platforms and add it to the event.

{% hint style="info" %}
Your preferred platform can be set as a default in your meeting settings so you don't have to select it each time. The AI Scheduler and Calendar Agent will use your default platform when booking on your behalf.

## Meeting Recording and Transcription

ScaleConnect does not record Google Meet calls directly. Google Meet has its own recording feature (available on certain Google Workspace plans), but ScaleConnect does not control or access those recordings.

For meeting transcription, the recommended approach is to use [Granola](/scaleconnect-docs/integrations/custom-integrations/granola.md). Granola runs in the background on your desktop or iPhone and transcribes any call — including Google Meet sessions. After the call, you can import the transcript into ScaleConnect from the client's Notes tab.

Imported transcripts become part of the client's knowledge base. ScaleAI uses them as context when answering questions about the client, generating [AI Reviews](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/integrations/ai-reviews.md), and providing recommendations through [Broker Brain](https://github.com/scaleapp-au/scaleconnect-docs/blob/main/integrations/broker-brain.md). The more meetings you transcribe, the richer the AI's understanding of each client's situation.

### Transcription workflow

1. Join the Google Meet call as normal.
2. Granola transcribes the conversation in the background.
3. After the call, open the client in ScaleConnect and go to their **Notes** tab.
4. Click **Import from Granola** and select the meeting.
5. Granola auto-suggests a client match based on attendee email — confirm and import.

See [Granola Meeting Notes](/scaleconnect-docs/integrations/custom-integrations/granola.md) for full setup and import instructions.

## Calendar Integration Dependency

Google Meet links depend entirely on your Google Calendar connection. Without it, ScaleConnect cannot create calendar events or generate Meet URLs.

Key points to keep in mind:

* **One Google account per broker.** ScaleConnect connects to a single Google account at a time. Make sure you authorise the account with your work calendar.
* **Calendar must stay connected.** If you disconnect Google Calendar, future meetings won't include Meet links. Existing calendar events and their Meet links are unaffected — they live in Google Calendar, not ScaleConnect.
* **Team members connect individually.** Each broker on your team connects their own Google account. Meet links are generated using each broker's own calendar.

## Troubleshooting

### No Meet link on the calendar event

Confirm that your Google Calendar is connected in **Settings → Integrations**. If the card shows "Connected" but the link is still missing, try disconnecting and reconnecting your Google account. Also verify that Google Meet was selected as the meeting platform when the event was created.

### Attendees didn't receive the calendar invitation

Check that the client's email address is correct on their profile. Google Calendar sends invitations to the email addresses listed as attendees on the event. If the email is wrong or missing, the invitation won't reach them. You can also open the event in Google Calendar and manually resend the invitation.

### Client can't join the Meet call

Google Meet links work in any modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. The client does not need a Google account to join. If they're having trouble, suggest they:

1. Click the Meet link from the calendar invitation email.
2. Enter their name when prompted (if not signed in to Google).
3. Click **Ask to join** — you'll see a notification in the Meet session to admit them.

If the link itself isn't working, copy the Meet URL from the Google Calendar event and send it to the client directly via email or chat.

### Meet link shows "meeting not found"

This usually means the calendar event was deleted or the Google account that created it was disconnected. Check that the event still exists in your Google Calendar. If the event was removed, you'll need to create a new meeting.

<details>

<summary>Do I need a paid Google Workspace plan for Meet links?</summary>

No. Google Meet links work with free Google accounts. However, free accounts have limitations on call duration and participant count. For longer meetings or larger groups, a Google Workspace subscription removes those limits.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I use Meet for group calls with multiple clients?</summary>

Yes. Add multiple attendees to the meeting when creating the event in ScaleConnect. All attendees receive the same Meet link and can join the same call.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Are Meet calls encrypted?</summary>

Yes. Google Meet encrypts all data in transit by default. For details on Google's security practices, see [Google Meet security](https://support.google.com/meet/answer/9852160).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I switch from Meet to Zoom or Teams for a specific meeting?</summary>

Yes. Select a different platform from the **Platform** dropdown when creating the meeting. Your default platform preference doesn't lock you in — you can choose on a per-meeting basis.

# Agent Instructions
This documentation is published with GitBook. GitBook is the documentation platform designed so that both humans and AI agents can read, navigate, and reason over technical content effectively. Learn more at gitbook.com.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.scaleconnect.com.au/scaleconnect-docs/integrations/google-meet.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
