# Invite Your Team

{% hint style="danger" %}
WIP
{% endhint %}

Add team members so they can manage clients, build strategies, and collaborate alongside you. You can invite during onboarding or any time from Settings.

***

## How to Invite your Team

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Open Team settings**

There are two ways to get here:

* **During onboarding** — the Invite your Team step appears automatically after you create your account.
* **From Settings** — click **Settings** in the sidebar, then select **Team**.
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Enter email addresses**

Type email addresses into the invite field. Separate multiple emails with commas — each one appears as a pill. You can add as many as you need in one go.

{% hint style="info" %}
Invitees must already have a ScaleConnect account. If someone doesn't have one yet, ask them to sign up first, then invite them by email.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Click Invite**

Hit **Invite** to send. Each person appears in the team list with a **Pending** badge until they accept.

You can set each person's role (Member or Admin) from the dropdown straight away. Changes save automatically.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Roles

Every team member has one of three roles. The Owner role is assigned automatically to the broker who created the team.

<table><thead><tr><th width="176.92578125">Role</th><th>What they can do</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Owner</strong></td><td>Full control over the team, clients, strategies, billing, and all settings. Cannot be changed or removed.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Admin</strong></td><td>Manage clients, build strategies, and change team member roles.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Member</strong></td><td>Manage clients and build strategies. Cannot change team settings or member roles.</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Every brokerage operates differently.** Some give all brokers Admin access; others keep permissions tight with a single Admin and multiple Members. If you have specific needs around client ownership, data visibility, or collaboration rules, [reach out to us](mailto:support@scaleconnect.com.au) and we'll help you configure the right setup.
{% endhint %}

## Managing your team

Click the **three-dot menu** (⋯) next to any team member to take action.

| Action               | When it's available        | What it does                                                                           |
| -------------------- | -------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Change role** | Active members (not Owner) | Switch between Admin and Member using the role dropdown. |
| **Cancel invite** | Pending members only | Revokes the invite before the person accepts. |
| **Remove from team** | Any member (not Owner) | Removes the person immediately. They lose access to all shared clients and strategies. |

{% hint style="warning" %}
Removing a team member is immediate. They won't be able to access any shared data once removed.
{% endhint %}

<summary>FAQs</summary>

**Can I invite someone who doesn't have an account yet?**\
Not yet — the person must already have a ScaleConnect account. Ask them to sign up first, then invite them by email from the Team page.

**Is there a limit on how many team members I can add?**\
No hard limit. Add as many team members as your brokerage needs.

**Can I change the team name?**\
The team name is set automatically when you create your account. It's not editable from the UI at the moment — contact support if you need it changed.

**What happens when I remove someone from the team?**\
They lose access to all shared clients, strategies, and team data immediately.

**Can I re-invite someone I removed?**\
Yes. Just enter their email again from the Team page and click Invite.

**I invited someone but they say they didn't receive anything — what do I do?**\
Invites don't send an email notification. Let your team member know they've been invited — they'll see the invite when they log in to ScaleConnect.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.scaleconnect.com.au/scaleconnect-docs/workspace/invite-your-team.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
